From our very own Santa. You were too cute, especially with that Santa belly.

the first real haircut
When you were about twelve months old, I snuck up behind you with a pair of scissors and snipped off what was starting to look like, to mama's chagrin, a mullet. But that didn't really count as a haircut, right? It was too fast and didn't really change your look much anyhow.
But this one did! It started with some long bangs. Mama had to keep pushing them out of your eyes, for they were getting in the way all the time. You'd blink a strange blink and shake your head, wondering what was tickling your face. So mama took up another pair of scissors, and chopped your bangs. The result was ... hm. Not that this is necessarily a bad thing, but you looked a little girly. Which I was okay with, so I left it. I wasn't ready to cut off those baby curls quite yet.
But then, while you were eating your snack this afternoon, I just decided. Again, those scissors came out. And your side curls, snip snip!, came off. And I couldn't resist taking about twenty photos. You look like such a big boy ... but you're still mama's baby.

oh, you two

Mama takes a lot of pictures of you two. Cute ones, silly ones, happy ones, even ones of you sleeping. You and dada just love doing things together.
Which is good, because this past weekend dada was just beginning his Christmas vacation from school and you two (and mama, of course) spent the whoooooole weekend together! Here are some photos of what you two did.
On the top, that's you and dada at the neighborhood coffee shop. Dada's singin' you a song, you're playing Boggle, and mama is behind the camera drinking tea and eating a brownie (yum!). Next one down is you two walking the streets of downtown Athens, heading to the car after eating dinner at Shokitini, a Japanese restaurant. You loved the teriyaki chicken. And the last one is of you two making a silly pose for mama while I was trying to figure out where to stage our family Christmas picture. We opted for the couch, but this was cute too :).
Maybe we'll get some pictures of you and mama on here soon. We're heading to Wisconsin tomorrow, and we'll have to get other family members to take those pictures!
Love you!

Thanksgiving
We all went to Brunswick to visit dada's family for the long Thanksgiving weekend and had a great time! The first picture is of you at the playground near the pier on St. Simon's Island. It was 75 degrees that day(!) and we were all enjoying the weather. You loved swinging in the swing, sliding down the slide, and, as you can see in the picture, hanging on the bars :).
The second picture is of you and dada at Aunt Cathy's house during our Thanksgiving meal. I love this picture for so many reasons, but most of all because of the look you're giving dada: so intense. And I always love that plaid shirt on you.
Although things were a little difficult with your napping and bedtime schedule - as they always are when we go on extended trips - overall you had a great time. Lots of new toys, many admirers, and even a little puppy to play with!
