it's getting cold outside...

... and little boys need to keep warm! Despite the hodge-podge look of this outfit, I quite love it. And you must like the hat ... you didn't take it off the entire car ride to school! Either that or you just couldn't figure out the velcro. You love the mittens, too - you make hand puppets for yourself and laugh. Maybe we should move you to a colder climate so you can wear winter things more often. Look out Wisconsin!

Anyway, I just adore this picture of you. Smiling your sweet little smile, snug as a bug. It was cold in our room this morning when we woke up, and you cuddled into mama in your sleep. Those are the best moments.

a family hike

We went for a short hike along the Memorial Park trail this past Saturday. You loved it at first, craning your neck for views and enjoying the ride on dada's back. After a little while, though, you got tired of the BabyHawk and wanted a better perspective ... this led to you bending over backwards and flailing your arms at the sky. And then, finally, to full out wailing. My poor boy! So we took you out, and you were carried in our arms (just the way you like it) for the rest of the way. We sure got a workout.

But it was beautiful. Fall has just started to make its way down to Georgia and we walked past the slowly changing leaves, even catching a whiff of wood smoke (mama's favorite fall scent).

It was just the little adventure we needed.

our dawg fan

Okay, so you don't even know what football is yet, nor have you been to a Georgia game, but you were born here and therefore that makes you a Dawg fan :). We found this CUTE sweatshirt at Kindermarket a few weeks ago (along with other great finds!) and it's nice and cozy - perfect for early morning yard sale-ing with mom and dad on a game day in October. Everyone thought you were precious. Which, of course, you are.

the sleep schedule

Dear Isaiah,

We learned a very important lesson this past week. DON'T MESS WITH YOUR SLEEP SCHEDULE! Oh, dear. Oh, my. You've gotten down to one long nap a day, starting shortly after lunch. Last Friday, however, you feel asleep on dada before leaving to go to school. Dada, thinking nothing of it, let you sleep awhile. No big deal, right? Oh, wrong! You didn't sleep alllll day at daycare, and wouldn't take no for an answer when you wanted to go to sleep at 6pm that night. We couldn't keep you up.

And the next morning, bright and early at 5am! Woo hoo, time to play! You usually sleep until around 6:30 or 7, so this was, um, not so fun for mama. And, again, the nap came early. 10am. And the bedtime, too. 6:30pm. And the wake up on Sunday. 5:30am.

So we're juuusssssst starting to get back to normal. And mama is happier. But still a little tired.

Silly Isaiah.
We still love you.

shenanigans.

So, now that you're over a year old... ...you're all over the place. You've surprised mom and I with your new practice of flying. In this photo you are seen flying past me while I dive to catch you. You got away.
