you are our awesome baby

Dada and I have this conversation a lot:

Mama: "I love him!"
Dada: "Me too, he's awesome."
Mama: "He's just so happy and cute!"
Dada: "Yeah, he's the best."

Or some variation thereof. You are just too much fun, Zaiahbug. You have the best smile, the best laugh and the best silly faces. You're up for anything, and you make everything fun. Especially trips to the grocery store. Oh, Isaiah. You're the best baby boy a momma could ask for.

grandma & grandpa!

Good thing you've mostly recovered from your chicken pox, because yesterday grandma and grandpa Berg came to visit! They were in Georgia for a wedding, so they came to celebrate Father's Day with us. After some initial hesitation - but not much! - you played with them all day. I think you were so comfortable with grandma because she reminds you of mama :).

We went to the zoo to see the animals, although I'm not sure you saw much; it's hard to see things like owls and bears if you don't know where to look. But you got a nice stroller ride out of it. We went out to dinner, too, and you were so good! You just *chomp chomp chomped* on your pieces of french bread and looked around the whole time.

It was a good day.

the chicken pox came to visit

My poor baby boy. Oh, it's been a hard week, hasn't it? The chicken pox were confirmed last Thursday, about two weeks after you were exposed at school. We were crossing our fingers, but they came anyhow. At least you won't remember having them!

We've tried oatmeal baths, regular baths, lots of Calamine lotion and plain 'ole distraction, but nothing helps for long. Soon you'll feel better ... until then, momma and dada are trying their best to keep you happy.

On another note: less than a week until grandma and grandpa Berg come to visit! Yay!

bath time!

You love taking baths! You take them more often than you used to because you're always getting food in your hair, haha. You love splashing, diving for your duckies, sucking on your washcloth, and swimming on your stomach. You don't even flinch when we poor water over your head!

Something tells me momma and dada have a swimmer on their hands.
